Electrical Inspection and Test
We find that regular 5 year inspections are a sensible way to build up a profile of a church building. It means we are able to get to know a property. In the long term it means fewer problems and a safer environment for church staff and the public. It’s something insurance companies like to see done regularly and means we can see long term patterns of any deterioration with the electrics. Portable appliance testing is another important way to help ensure a church is a safe environment. The Health & Safety Executive states that 25% of all reportable electrical accidents involve portable appliances. Norcroft offer dedicated PAT engineers (C&G 2377 & 2381 qualified) to provide a hassle-free service, from managing the testing programme to carrying out the works, through to producing the test reports. We also recommend you do your own visual checks at regular intervals and record them to meet the Code of Practice guidelines.

“The Church of All Saints and St James the Greater is a Grade 1 Listed Building, of ancient monastic foundation dating from prior to 1060. We are very selective of any tradesmen who work on either, exterior or within the confines of the building, particularly the interior fabric. Norcroft Electrical Limited of Hoylandswaine are our chosen Electrical Contractor for carrying out quinquennial assessments, electrical installations, rewiring etc. They carried out a complete installation of a three phase system, achieving a very high standard of work, and installed high level outside security lights to supplement our alarm system.
